Taylor Wunsch

Head Coach

Taylor grew up in Swanton, Vermont learning to ski at Jay Peak. Taylor has had a successful ski racing career traveling the world racing. Taylor raced for the University of Vermont (UVM) all four years and majored in Radiation Therapy. During Taylor’s time at UVM he was the EISA Points Leader in slalom in 2014, he earned 1st Team All American honors and was the top American in slalom in the NCAA championship his senior year. In the off season Taylor enjoys mountain biking and being out on the lake.

Emily Casavant


Emma grew up in St. Albans, Vermont. She started racing at Smuggler’s Notch at age 7 and continued racing for SNSC until graduating from high school. In high school she also raced on the BFA alpine team and competed in the Eastern High School Championships in 2015. Emma is currently studying Civil Engineering at the University of New Hampshire. When not skiing, she enjoys spending time on Lake Champlain with her family and hanging out with her dog.

Sean Taberman


Sean started ski racing when he was 8 and quickly rose through the ranks. Sean then joined his High School team and while co-captain his team won the county championships both his junior and senior year in Western Massachusetts. Sean has also ski instructed at his local hill. Recently attending Champlain College Sean now works in Burlington and is very keen to get back into ski racing.

Kyra Taberman


Kyra Taberman was raised skiing the icy slopes of western Massachusetts and began competing in a junior race league at six years old. She continued race training until the age of twelve when she began pursuing other interests. Upon entering high school she reentered the world of competitive alpine racing, and later helped her team to become Berkshire County Champions. Kyra is very excited to have the opportunity to work with children the same age she was when she fell in love with this sport. When she’s not skiing, Kyra enjoys hiking, swimming, knitting, and photography.

Jon Bowser


Jon is returning for his 14th season and has been a coach at Jay since 2002. He currently has his level 100 coaching cert. Many people know him to be an easy going, fun loving guy who has two passions; sports and skiing powder days at Jay. When he is not on the mountain he runs a very successful after school and summer camp program in Georgia, where he has been the last six years. His other summer passion is golf, golf and more golf.

Jay Cummings

On Snow Director of Coaching

Jay is returning for his 4th season this time around and coached for the club previously for several years as well. He joined the Ski Club at 6 years old and raced until 15. Later he skied collegiately for Champlain College participating in their National Championship Victory and awarded the Ski Meister, winning the combined Alpine and Cross Country. His coaching career started by visiting friends at Jay Peak one weekend. He never left. He was Head Coach in the late 80’s and early 90’s.  During that time he met his wife Jennifer now of 18 years. Jay returned to coaching as a doting Dad with his daughter Danielle who has an interest in following Mom and Dad’s footsteps. Off snow Jay owned a small business of 10+ employees for over 20 years. Jay’s past activities involved marathons, triathlons, private pilots license, MTB and road cycling, hunting, boating and any thrill seeking activity. Cummings is quoted: “Generally I despise the wind in my face unless I am solely responsible for it’s velocity”.
